Virtual Tours have been around for some time- but have always seemed more trouble than they were worth. Now, with faster internet connections, they're beginning to make more sense- particularly since they're ideally suited to mobile devices. They can now be integrated with social networking sites, and the rich experience they provide can lead to instant sharing of your content with the dab of a thumb.

However, the Adobe Flash based tours don't play on iPhones and iPads- leading to that annoying grey page.

This has been a problem since the introduction of iDevices- but now there is a way around it- use the camera on your phone to capture the QR code to the right, to play a tour on an iPhone or iPad- or click here or on the link below to view the Flash based version on your computer. If you're already on an iDevice, the mobile version will open.

The mobile tour opens up in its own self-contained browser- effectively an online app, and you control the content- immersive photography, still photo gallery, video, audio, text, email- plus a link back to your main site. QR codes can serve as an attractive invitation to take the tour- and can be incorporated in advertising, leaflets, clothing, napkins- the opportunities are limited only by your imagination.

These tours can be targeted for specific marketing campaigns- the possibilities are endless...

Drop me a line if you are interested in producing a tour, photography, or for any information. VR tours for iPhone and iPad can be produced as standalone apps, downloadable in the iTunes store.

And now for something completely different- FIlm Cameras. Here are some I made earlier- there's another one in the cameras section at the top of the page. Many more in the pipeline...

The Plank- It's a Large Format camera, taking 4x5" film, and polaroids, and roll films. There have been three versions, with three lenses, the first, the deranged one,

plankthumb-two.jpg the second, the sensible one,

plankthumb-three.jpg and the third, only slightly bonkers version.

lfportraitthumb.jpg Large Format Portraits- a small selection of pictures taken on some larger cameras-

pestivalthumb.jpg Pestival at London's South Bank, has since won an Observer Ethical Award.

More projects coming soon...
